American Trailer is a guitar driven jazz album with a heavy blues lean. Songs incorporate a variety of jazz styles that includes Beatles covers. I generally like the bluesier tracks better (episode one, Danube Delta blues, song for Jimi) but the slower ballad-like pieces are good too, almost like a lively Jim Hall.

I found this album while looking for albums that feature the fantastic drummer Rudy Royston. I’m glad I did as American Trailer has introduced me to Rudy Linka whose guitar playing I really enjoy here: sweet tone that’s precise but laid-back at the same time.

American Trailer is an accessible album with pop-like melodies and familiar blues licks that I recommend.
